The critics are the ones that we have to impress
So we’ve got to do our very best
We’ve got to see this night through

Luck show us what you can do —-LUCK!
Scene: Dance Lesson
Teacher shows Wanna-be Star a tap routine. Wanna-be Star fails at it miserably and hobbles off stage
Director: “OK what’s the next number?” Assistant: “I think it’s the Twinkling T-Birds?” Director: “OK…Twinkling T-Birds…you’re up.”
(Members of the football team in polka dots skirts and polka-dot bikini bras with big tin foil rings on their ring fingers, enter. The crowd goes nuts)!
TWINKING T-BIRDS SING: “DIAMONDS ARE A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND” (from the Broadway show GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES).
A kiss on the hand May be quite continental
But diamonds are a girl’s best friend
A kiss may be grand But it won’t pay the rental
On your humble flat Or help you at the automat
Men grow cold As girls grow old And we all lose our charms in the end
But square-cut or pear-shaped These rocks don’t lose their shape (A la Rockettes- the guys do a kick line)
Diamonds are a girl’s best, diamonds are a girl’s best, diamonds are a girl’s best friend.
